1. About This Policy; Who We Are

This Cookies Policy ("Policy") explains the cookies and similar stored records used by the website at jdswebservice.com, which our Terms of Service call the "Site." "JD's Web Service" is a sole proprietorship operating from Pennsylvania. "We," "us," and "our" mean that sole proprietorship. The Terms of Service govern use of the Site; our Privacy Policy covers the personal information side of that use. This Policy is the full cookie detail: the Privacy Policy keeps a short cookie summary and points here, so there is one list that does not drift.

Site use is limited to people at least 18 years old under our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly ask for personal information from anyone younger.

2. The Two Kinds of Cookies

The Site sets two kinds of cookies, and this Policy uses the same words the banner and the Privacy Policy use:

• Essential Cookies are the cookies and stored records the Site needs to operate: your recorded banner choice, the client portal session, the checkout and payment functions, and the Site's security and abuse prevention. Everything the Site sets other than the Personal Cookies described in Section 5 is an Essential Cookie.
• Personal Cookies are the tracking kind: the cookies behind the Site's analytics and advertising described in Section 5. Personal Cookies are optional; they are the only kind you can opt out of, and they run only on your acceptance. If you do not accept tracking cookies, Personal Cookies are not set, and we cannot track you any further.

3. The Cookie Banner and Your Choice

The cookie banner appears at the bottom of the screen and offers exactly two buttons: Accept All, which is highlighted, and Just Essential Cookies. Before you make a choice, Personal Cookies stay off by default; nothing tracks your visit while the banner waits. The banner stays visible until you pick a button. After you pick, we do not re-ask while your choice stands.

Your choice is stored in your own browser on your own device, as an entry in the browser's local storage named jds-cookie-consent holding the value all or essential. We do not receive a report of your choice, and we keep no record of banner choices on our side. While your choice stands, the banner stays hidden. The choice lasts until you change it under Section 8, or until it resets when you become a client under Section 7.

4. Essential Cookies (What Always Runs)

Essential Cookies run whenever the function they serve runs, independently of the banner choice. They are:

• Your consent choice (jds-cookie-consent). Set by: the Site. What it does: records your banner choice so the banner does not ask again on every page; it is an entry in your browser's local storage rather than a classic cookie file, and it appears here because the banner checks it every time you load a page. How long it lasts: until you change it by clearing this site's stored data in your browser, or until your first client sign-in resets it (Section 7).
• Client portal session. Set by: the Site, at clients.jdswebservice.com. What it does: keeps you signed in to your client account. How long it lasts: until you log out or the session ends.
• Checkout integrity and payment fraud checks. Set by: Stripe, during online payment. What it does: keeps the checkout working and helps stop payment fraud. How long it lasts: for your checkout and the fraud checks around it.
• Site security and abuse prevention. Set by: the Site. What it does: form protection, session and security tokens, and checks that slow automated abuse so the Site keeps working. How long it lasts: for the length of your browsing or form session.

If you pick Just Essential Cookies, this list is everything that runs. Nothing on the Site requires Personal Cookies: the Site and the client portal keep working normally.

5. Personal Cookies (The Tracking Kind)

The only Personal Cookies we set ourselves are our own analytics cookies. The other Personal Cookies that can appear on your device are advertising cookies, and they are set by our advertising partners, not by us. Both kinds are Personal Cookies: they run only when Personal Cookies run on your visit, which means you chose Accept All in the banner (Section 3), or you are a client whose consent is governed by the Signed Service Agreement (Section 7).

• Analytics. Set by: us. The Site runs its own analytics software (Matomo), which we host ourselves on servers we control, so the analytics cookies are set from our own domain and the records stay in our own systems. What it records: the pages you view and how often, IP addresses, the referrer URL of each visit (including referrers that arrive from search and advertising campaigns), browser and device type, the date and time of each visit, and an approximate region derived from the IP address. How long it lasts: up to about a year.
• Advertising. Set by: our advertising partners; these are networks, and we name the current ones here as the networks we work with change. What they do: help show ads on the Site, measure how often ads are seen, and limit repeat ads; performance measurements run through our own analytics. How long they last: as set by each partner, under that partner's own policy.

The banner is the single control for both entries. No Personal Cookies are set at all unless you chose Accept All, or the Section 7 client consent applies.

6. Who Else Sets Cookies

Our analytics is ours: the software runs on our own server, and the records stay in our own systems. Stripe sets its own checkout and fraud-check cookies during payment. Advertising cookies are set by our ad partners, described in Section 5. Our hosting and email delivery providers set no cookies.

7. Clients and Cookie Consent

When you become a client under a service agreement you signed with us (a "Signed Service Agreement" as defined in our Terms of Service), the signed agreement is where your consent to the Site's cookies lives: signing it records your agreement to the cookies described in this Policy, including the analytics tracking described in Section 5.

The Site carries that consent into your account at your first sign-in. At the account setup stage, when you set your client password, any earlier banner choice stored in your browser is reset, and the consent in your Signed Service Agreement governs your visits from then on: the cookies described in this Policy then apply to your client visits.

8. Changing or Withdrawing Your Choice

Your choice does not change on its own, and we do not re-ask while it stands. To change it, clear this site's stored data in your browser (in your browser's settings, the site data for jdswebservice.com). The stored record of your choice goes with it, and the banner asks again the next time you load a page. Picking Just Essential Cookies there applies immediately: analytics and advertising cookies are never set while that choice stands, nothing about your visit is recorded for tracking, the Site and the client portal keep working as normal, and no ads load on your visits. An earlier Accept All choice is replaced.

Nothing is lost by choosing Just Essential Cookies: every function the Site offers stays available. If you have become a client, Section 7 explains how the reset works at your first sign-in. Requests over data already collected follow the Privacy Policy, as Sections 9 and 10 describe.

9. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident: your control over tracking technologies on the Site is the banner and the choice it stores (Sections 3 and 8). Personal Cookies never run unless you accepted them, and they stop as soon as an essential-only choice applies again. Rights over personal information already collected, including analytics records, follow the Privacy Policy: use the contact form on the Site with a short note such as "privacy request," which reaches [email protected]. This Policy opens no second request route.

10. Visitors from the EU, EEA, or the United Kingdom

If you use the Site from the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom:

• Consent comes first. Nothing non-essential is set before you choose; while you decide, the Site sets only the Essential Cookies, and those rest on our interest in keeping the Site and its security working.
• Picking Just Essential Cookies never reduces the Site's functionality: the Site and the client portal keep working normally, and no ads load.
• You can withdraw consent at any time with immediate effect through the path in Section 8.
• What the Site collects, how long it is kept, and where it is stored (servers in the United States) are described in the Privacy Policy.
• Requests use the same route as the Privacy Policy's rights section.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may change this Policy at any time, and the updated version takes effect immediately when it is posted. That is our house rule for every legal document we publish; our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy carry the same rule, so the three never disagree on when changes start.

12. Contacting Us

Privacy requests travel through the Privacy Policy's route: the contact form on the Site with a "privacy request" note, which lands in the [email protected] inbox. That single route serves requests over data already collected, including analytics records. For anything else about this Policy, use [email protected], the mailbox our Terms of Service names for questions and legal notices.
