Our Story

Comfort food, done right

Chef Daniel Whitmore grew up in Pittsburgh and spent fifteen years in restaurant kitchens before opening The Steel Hearth on Carson Street in 2018. The name comes from the city he loves: the steel that built it, and the hearth that brings people together.

We believe comfort food should be made from scratch, served generously, and shared around a table. Stop in for a burger and a local draft, stay for the conversation.
