About Us

Grace Since 1987

A welcoming, non-denominational Christian church serving Bethel Park and the South Hills. Come as you are.

Our Story

Grace Since 1987

Grace Community Church began in 1987 when a handful of families gathered in a living room on Washington Road to pray, study the Scriptures, and dream about a church where everyone could belong. There were twelve of us that first Sunday, with a guitar, a borrowed sermon tape, and a pot of coffee that never seemed to run out.

Over the years we outgrew that living room, then a rented storefront, and finally broke ground on this building in 1998. What started as twelve families has grown into a congregation of around 400 members, but the heart of those early days has never changed. We still believe church should feel like family.

Today we are a non-denominational Christian church serving Bethel Park and the South Hills. We are young and old, lifelong believers and people who are just asking questions. Whoever you are and wherever you are from, you are welcome here.

What We Believe

A Grace-Centered Church

We are a non-denominational Christian church rooted in the Bible and centered on the grace of Jesus Christ. Here is what shapes us.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's Word, given to guide us, shape us, and reveal who God is. We teach it plainly and trust it completely.

Grace

We believe everyone falls short and everyone is loved. Salvation is a gift of grace through Jesus Christ, not something we earn.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus is the Son of God, that He lived, died, and rose again, and that life is found in following Him.

The Church

We believe the church is a family, not a building. We gather to worship, grow, serve, and care for one another and our community.

Everyone Welcome

We believe the doors are open to all. Doubts, questions, and brokenness are welcome here. Come as you are.

Mission

We believe we are called to love our neighbors, serve the South Hills, and share the hope we have found in Jesus.

Pastor Michael Reeves.

Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Michael Reeves

Pastor Michael Reeves has served as the senior pastor of Grace Community Church since 2009. He holds a Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and previously pastored a small congregation in Washington County for seven years before being called to Grace.

Michael and his wife Sarah have been married for twenty-two years and have two teenage children, Emma and Luke. He is known for his warm, conversational preaching style, his open-door office hours, and his conviction that no question is too small to ask.

His passion is helping people take the next step in their faith, wherever they are starting from. You will usually find him in the lobby after every service, coffee in hand, ready to meet anyone who has walked through the doors.

Our Ministries

A Place for Every Age and Stage

Every ministry is a doorway into community. Here is more about how each one works and who it is for.

Youth ministry students grades 7 through 12.

Youth

When: Sunday evenings, 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Who: Grades 7 through 12

Our youth group meets Sunday evenings for games, worship, a short message, and small-group time. Students build real friendships, ask hard questions, and learn to follow Jesus together. We also take a weekend retreat every fall and a mission trip every summer.

Children's ministry, birth through grade 6.

Children's

When: During both Sunday services (9:00am and 11:00am)

Who: Birth through grade 6

Kids are welcome in every service, but we also offer age-specific classrooms during both Sunday services. Our screened, trained volunteers lead a Bible lesson, songs, and play. Check-in opens fifteen minutes before each service at the children's desk in the lobby.

The worship choir and band leading Sunday music.

Worship

When: Sunday mornings

Who: All are welcome to join the choir or band

Our worship ministry includes a choir and a contemporary band that lead music across both Sunday services. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings. If you sing or play an instrument and want to serve, talk to our worship director after any service.

Outreach volunteers serving the Bethel Park community.

Outreach

When: Year-round events and Saturday food pantry

Who: Everyone is welcome to serve

Outreach is how we love our neighbors in Bethel Park. We run a Saturday food pantry, host a back-to-school supply drive each August, and partner with local shelters for winter coat drives. New volunteers are always welcome, no experience needed.

Small groups meeting across the South Hills area during the week.

Small Groups

When: Various days and times throughout the week

Who: Adults of all ages

Small groups are where the real life of our church happens. Groups of eight to twelve meet in homes across the South Hills to study the Bible, pray, and share life together. There are groups for young adults, families, empty nesters, and everyone in between. We will help you find one that fits.

Stocked shelves at the Grace Community Church food pantry.

Food Pantry

When: Saturdays, 9:00am to noon

Who: Open to anyone in need in the community

Our food pantry serves families in Bethel Park and the surrounding South Hills who need a hand. We stock non-perishables, fresh produce when available, and personal care items. No paperwork, no questions. If you need help, come Saturday morning. If you want to donate or volunteer, the pantry is open every Saturday too.
